Cosmos Travel presents its Bulgaria Trips – Troyan -> Tarnovo -> Gabrovo -> Shipka -> Kazanlak -> Plovdiv

Day 1 Sofia – Troyan Monastery – >Veliko Tarnovo

10:00 Departure from Sofia. The first stop will be at the Troyan Monastery – a monastery complex, the third in size in Bulgaria, a remarkable monument of culture of national significance. It is situated in the beautiful valley of the river Cherni Osam, 10 km south from the town of Troyan. It was first founded in 1600 and reconstructed in the period 1830 – 1865 in its present look. Lunch.

In the afternoon, arrival at Veliko Tarnovo. Veliko Tyrnovo is a trap, which will teleport you back in time, to make you a spectator of the rise and fall of the mighty capital of the Second Bulgarian kingdom (12-14 century). Veliko Tarnovo was declared a Balkan capital of cultural tourism, and a few times it was awarded the prize The Most Beautiful Town in Bulgaria.

Accommodation at 4*Hotel in Veliko Tarnovo. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Veliko Tarnovo (Tsarevets) – Arbanasi

Breakfast. The tour will include the most important sights: Tsarevets architectural and museum reserve (medieval stronghold), Samovodskata charshia (lively craftmen’s street) and the temple “St. Forty Holy Martyrs”. Then the trip will continue to  the museum village of Arbanassi – famous for its 17th and 18th architecture and the unique Church of the Nativity of Christ, with well-preserved murals depicting over 2000 Old and New Testiment scenes. Traditional lunch in Arbanasi.

Return to the hotel. Free time for leisure and relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 Veliko Tarnovo-  Etara – Shipka – Kazanlak – Plovdiv

Breakfast. En route: stop to feel the unique atmosphere of the Etara open air museum of authentic traditional crafts, created to preserve the appearance and the spirit of the old time Bulgarian mountain villages and the manufacturing traditions of the region for the future generations. Continue through Shipka mountain pass, which provides some admirable mountain views. Visit to the Memorial Church of Shipka town, erected after Bulgaria’s Liberation from Ottoman rule as a gesture of gratitude to both Russian and Bulgarian soldiers that died in the fierce battles there. Visit to the Thracian Tomb (UNESCO) in Kazanlak. Lunch. Continue to Plovdiv. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Plovdiv – Sofia

Breakfast. Tour of Plovdiv. It is the oldest still living city in Europe inhabited since 6000 years BC. Famous historical monuments include the Roman Stadium, the Ancient Theatre, the charming Old Town and more.  Lunch and departure.

Arrival in Sofia in the afternoon.
