Located at the feet of the Pirin mountain the town of Bansko developed to a beloved tourist destination over the last 10 years. Offering all season relaxation and entertainment opportunities Bansko became a worthy place to visit all year long.

The contemporary town of Bansko is a unique mixture of old traditions and modern style, where new-built hotels and apartment houses are separated from more than 100 years old ethnographic houses by just a tiny, stone-paved street. The town centre is a listed World Heritage Site. The clock tower measures the time for over 150 years now.

After an adventurous day on the slopes, Bansko guests enjoy the local restaurants called the “Mehanas,” serving from traditional Bulgarian cuisine and drinks to international delights.

The people of Bansko are famous with their hospitality and friendliness and make their guests remember the time spent here.

Borovets:

Borovets, the first and most famous Bulgarian mountain resort, is situated on the northern slopes of the Rila Mountain at an altitude of 1300 meters. The resort enjoys a perfect location right at the foot of Mount Musala (2925 m), the highest peak on the Balkans. Only 72 km away from Sofia and just 126 km away from Plovdiv, Borovets is easily accessible from all parts of Bulgaria.

Stunning snow scenery, sun and of course a great variety of ski runs – 24 tracks with a total length of 58 km. The ski runs offer various degrees of difficulty levels and traffic intensity and are suitable for beginners as well as for advanced and expert skiers.

The ski runs are grouped in 3 regions: Sitnyakovo–Martinovi Baraki, Markudzhik and Yastrebets. Borovest has hosted twice competitions from the Alpine skiing World Cup. After the day is over, the resort continues to be just as busy and full of bustling life thanks to the conditions provided for night skiing and the numerous cozy taverns and bars. Borovets is a challenging and favorite place for snowboarders to whom the resort offers terrains of various difficulty levels. The resort has also prepared many unique adventures which will enthrall all guests and will have them reach the “boiling point” of excitement despite the cold temperatures around.

Pamporovo:

The winter resort Pamporovo is situated at the foot of Snezhanka peak (1926 meters) in the Rhodope mountain, at a distance of 260 km from Sofia, 85 km from Plovdiv and 16 km from Smolyan. The resort is situated on an elevation of 1650 meters above the sea level. The average yearly temperature is 5.5 degrees Celsius. Pamporovo has existed as a resort since the 1960s.

Almost all ski tracks in the resort start from Snezhanka peak, as their elevation varies from 1930 to 1444 meters above the sea level. There are 37 kilometers of ski tracks in Pamporovo, the longest of which is 5.1 km, and the maximum displacement is 476 meters. The ski tracks are of various difficulty level – there are tracks for advanced skiers, as well as for beginners. 9 tow-lifts and 6 ski lifts are available for the tourists.

The ski tracks in the resort can be also used by snowboarders. There is a half-pipe structure, as well as multiple options for downhill skiing along a rough terrain. There are also ski racing tracks with length of 25 km in Pamporovo. There are multiple places suitable for sledging in the ski zone. Night lighting from 28 spotlights is provided on Snezhanka No 2 track, which is 1176 meters long, 60 meters wide, and its displacement is 283 meters, for admirers of the extreme downhill racing. Mountains crossing with motor sledges are offered.

A few ski schools for children and adults, as well as kindergarten for children from 4 to 7 years old, function in Pamporovo. The sportspeople who do not possess their own ski equipment can hire it from the rental shops in the resort.
